Port development feasibility study - Vietnam
Considering the rapid growth of Vietnamese import and export levels, there is an urgent need of a new sea port in the Mekong Delta (Tra Vinh Province). The new port will be mainly used for exporting aquaculture products and rice and importing fertilizer and steel products.
The future port location was chosen out of several possible sites (multi-criteria analysis). There was a strong focus on the socio-economic feasibility of the port. The study had the following scope: traffic forecast, port master plan, technical feasibility (breakwater design, quay wall design, dredging,…), site surveys (geotechnical), BOQ, financial viability and financial modeling, port infrastructure & furniture study, EIA, economic assessment.
