Port development feasibility study - Nigeria

 

The project was a feasibility study on the development of a deep water port on the border of Ondo and Ogun State. The future port location was chosen out of several possible sites (multi-criteria analysis). The port was designed to be the major container hub in West Africa. The study had the following scope: traffic forecast, port master plan, technical feasibility (breakwater design, quay wall design, dredging,…), site surveys (geotechnical, topography, bathymetry), BOQ, financial viability and financial modeling, port infrastructure & furniture study, EIA, hinterland development.

   The port had the following characteristics:

  • 3,200 m of container quay wall
  • 3,000 m of general cargo quay wall
  • 10 km of rubble mound breakwater
  • 3 jetties
